My Journey To New Luscious Locks

Recently I've been having a problem with my hair; I've been dying it for so many years I've lost count, but it's never felt too dry or brittle but as of late my top layers have been riddled with frizz and the ends feel like straw so I've decided to break into my bank to buy products that will give my hair the TLC that it needs. I've invested in the Ressurection shampoo and conditioners from Bed Head - the highest level of moisture care to try and boost it back to life - and from the little bit that I've used already I've already noticed a slight difference (and they have such a sweet fruity smell that fills the whole house and leaves your hair smelling amazing for days)! For after care I've totally fallen for FrizzEase's Miraculous Recovery leave in conditioner (that I read about on Lily Pebbles blog), it leaves my hair feeling super soft and slightly helps to tame the wild mane I'm left with after drying. The other 2 products I have left are for when I'm dying my hair - now I know, I do bi-monthly full head dye's using Live XXL in the shade Real Red, but in between I use Fire or Poppy Red by Directions. This is something I've done for many years now so I consider myself quite the expert in using this product and I've found the perfect combination that works for me; half a bottle of any strong conditioner and half a tub of the colour, mix and let sit on your head for a couple of hours. It always makes my hair feel super soft and look revitalized, but I needed a serious hair therapy session ASAP.

So yeah, I'm going to keep my fingers crossed and carry on using these products to see if there is any difference in the quality of my current mop because yes - the struggle is real.

What products do you turn to when your hair needs some extra love?

Spring Edit #1 - the nails

Sorry that it's taken me so long to put up my first proper post! The stress of A levels really took over! But here goes,

I have always been a lover of spring, the introduction to the warm weather where a jacket and jeans with sandals are acceptable to be seen out in, but the thing I love the most is the colours it produces. Spring time is a wash with corals and peaches and muted limes and all the good colours - and as an avid nail polish lover I jumped at the thought of introducing some new spring into my current collection so I thought I'd share with you some of my favourite recent pick ups.

MUA - Bright Coral
I needed a new perfect peachy coral to add to my collection as it's a colour I'd never really seen myself wearing until now. I found this in Superdrug for only £1! Bargain! Anyway, as soon as I used it I realized why it was only £1, it's a very watery and thing consistency but after a couple of coats the colour builds up beautifully. I would definitely recommend this to anyone on a budget that's looking for a peachy beachy colour.

Collection - Candy Floss
This polish goes on smoothly and is easy to work with to build different shades. I picked it up thinking it would be a little darker than the almost white baby pink colour it is, but I wasn't disappointed. It was a little more expensive than the MUA polishes at around £3 but I would recommend this for a truly delicate baby pink.

MUA - Bold Blue
Similarly to the first, the colour is beautiful and after a couple of coats it looks gorgeous. I've never been a real fan of blue nail polishes but I feel that this one is such a neutral blue that it would suit almost every skin type. I've had this on for 3 days now and no chipping yet (thank god!) so I think the formula is very impressive to say it was the cheapest in store!

Welcome!

Hey guys!

So as you may or may not know starting up a blog is something I've been wanting to do and debating to do for quite some time now. I've always had an interest in fashion and beauty but recently it's become something I'd say I'm fairly passionate about - that and films/tv and music!

But yeah, back to my original point - I've wanted to start up a blog for a long time because the idea of being able to express my views and tell other people about the things I love online is really crazy (plus I ALWAYS read reviews before buying/trying something so the thought of me being someone people look to for inspiration is very exciting!).

So yes, hello, I'm Lauren and this is my personal style/beauty/fashion/lifestyle blog. Welcome.
